When I was at school the consensus was we'd not need any other language but language is so much more than just speaking in another language!
It's about understanding different perspectives, cultures, and ways of doing things. It's about creating enhanced growth and development in children's brains at a time when they're sponges for growth. An it's about creating a social environment that also enriches lives beyond that of the new skill itself.
